Fundamental British Values

British Values

"For this is the message you heard from the beginning:  We should love one another."  1 John 3:11

At Woodchester Endowed Church of England Primary School, we are committed to teaching values and we aim to introduce, discuss and live these out through the Christian values that underpin our Vision, ethos and aims.  We aim to ensure that our learning community is one in which individuals excel in their attitudes towards themselves and others. These values are expected to be followed by all members of the school community.

Fundamental British Values are embedded within our wide School Curriculum.  Through our taught and untaught learning opportunities, children experience Democracy; the Rule of Law; individual liberty; mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths.  This forms part of our Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural learning.  We seek to develop and deepen children's undersanding of these concepts.  We hope they may demonstrate a deep understanding of their application to their own lives as well as being able to embrace and value difference.
