Our Vision

'Love, Learn and Flourish Together'

Our church school community seeks to inspire children and adults to love, learn and flourish together so we may become everything God has created us to be.

Our Vision and Christian Values

In Spring 2019, the community came together to revisit the school’s vision.  We sought the views of Governors, Parents, Staff, Parish and Local Community, and Children.

Staff, Governors and Clergy considered what it meant to be a ‘distinctly Christian’ school and we revisited our Ethos Statement contained within our Trust Deed (a legally binding document) which must underpin our Vision:

‘Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.  The school aims to serve the community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.  It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.’

Through different stakeholder views, we considered what was valued and special about our school, as well as what we want to achieve.  In addition, we thought about the experiences children and adults should have, both within and beyond school, through their association with school.  We teased out the following elements as being important to us:

  • Rich, engaging experiences/broad curriculum
  • Strong relationships between different communities – School/Church Community/Village Community/wider community including Global (people and environmental)
  • Holistic approach – developing the ‘whole child’, not just academic
  • Using, sharing and celebrating talents for the benefit of all

From a Christian perspective, it was felt that we are all individuals, unique and loved by God. The combination of all our strengths and talents make our school community richer and, those within it, more able to live out God’s vision for us as individuals, as a school community, church and as a global community.

Our Christian Values and Vision continue to underpin our decision-making and ethos and our curriculum is a key driver in achieving our Vision.
