How do adults flourish at our school?
Our school has many different adults working with our school community – Headteacher, Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Administrators, Midday Supervisors, Cleaners, Governors, visiting coaches, peripatetic music teachers, volunteers, FOWES, wider agencies who interact with us.
- Feels included and part of a team able to offer their own skills and support whilst recognising the skills that others bring to the team
- Feels that they are valued, their role is important but that they are also important and are supported to improve or develop further – even if that means that they move on eventually.
- That there is an understanding of life outside of work and support of a work life balance with symbiotic support when things are busy at school
- Challenged and fulfilled whilst feeling valued as part of the school community
- Knows where to turn for support and is also prepared to support others when needed. For example, with challenging behaviour
- That their roles and responsibilities are better understood and valued by those outside of the school community
- Feels confident and able to ask questions whilst at the same time being respectful of others
- Feels that they have a good understanding of the current issues that may impact on their role or knows where to go for help or advice if they have any questions.
- Delivers their role with a sense of fun and belonging to our school community whilst being empathetic to the pressures of working in a small school environment.
A flourishing adult is instrumental to a flourishing child and vice versa. You cannot have one without the other!
