Here at Woodchester, we enjoy celebrating Christmas with our festive KS2 carol service. This year, we tried something new with the children entering, carrying candles (electric of course!) and singing the most traditional 'Oh Little Town of Bethlehem'. It was wonderful to see the church packed with so many friends, families and past pupils, showing the importance of the school and Church in building the community.
The Woodchester Band started our service by playing a variety of Christmas tunes. The children have been playing together for such a short time and voluntarily give up their lunchtimes once a week to come together and rehearse. Hawthorn then told their variation of 'T'was the night before Christmas' with some cheeky local references to Woodchester thrown in - they did brilliantly. Juniper sang the traditional song 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' with some audience participation - thank you Juniper!
As is Woodchester tradition, the Year 6 children read the Christmas story throughout our service and help remind us of the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you Willow Class.
Thank you to all of those who came to our traditional service. It was lovely to see you all.
