Y6 Christingle at Gloucester Cathedral

Willow Class travelled to Gloucester Cathedral to takepart in the Diocese of Gloucester Christingle Service having made their Christingles.

During the service, which was led by Bishop Rachael, we considered the symbolism of the Christingles and were invited to think about children all over the world who may have challenges or difficulties to overcome. We presented a donation to 'The Children's Society' to help them continue their fantastic work protecting and helping children.

Gloucester Cathedral is such a wonderful building, inspiring thought and reflection, and a particularly poignant part of the service was when the whole congregation stood in two giant circles around the Cathdral. As we fell into silence and looked at the flickering candle light shining on top of our own Christingle, it was an opportunity for personal and private reflection.

Throughout our trip, our children showed interest, enthusiasm and demonstrated lots of respect. Well done Willow Class!
