LION HUNT AND FAMILY FUN DAY!
At the beginning of the week the forecast predicted rain between 12 and 4pm on Sunday 25th June! Thank goodness that proved inaccurate and the sun shone and we ended up hosting the Lion Hunt on the hottest day of the year so far!
Families came along, hunted round the village for some very unusual lions and then relaxed and enjoyed each others’ company in the beautiful setting of our school grounds. Our five classes created new lion designs and they looked fantastic. Thank you very much to everyone including many local businesses for sponsoring a lion.
Once back at school, children enjoyed themselves in the sandpit, creating Forest School bird feeders, being glittered, playing with bubbles and exploring the many stands and games on offer. Families could enjoy ice cream, pizza and a delicious homemade lemonade (thanks Olivia!) and other summer drinks not to mention an abundance of freshly baked cakes and sweetmeats in the school hall. The Gloucestershire Butterfly Society also came along with a selection of beautiful moths and butterflies to observe.
There was a super atmosphere as members of our church, local and school community enjoyed this special occasion. Thank you to our wonder FOWES team and to everyone who helped to make it such a huge success.
And the icing on the cake? ……… we raised over £2000!
Thank you so much.
