FOREST SCHOOL FAMILY CELEBRATION - September 2022
Forest School is an important part of life and learning at Woodchester and we are so lucky to have an amazing group of dedicated and passionate Forest School leaders in Mrs Holmes, Mrs Jordan, Mrs Adams and Mrs Boulton. Due to their commitment and enthusiasm we are able to offer Forest School to children in Ash and Beech every week. All classes in Key Stage 2 have a weekly session in Forest School for a whole term each year.
We are very fortunate to have such lovely grounds which support this special learning time, however, keeping on top of the maintenance is a bit of a challenge. Thankfully, our parent, staff and PTA community come together to look after our Forest School grounds and raise funds to help make improvements.
During the summer holiday, a new wooden staircase was added, the area surrounding the pond was decked and fabulous new wooden gates installed to improve access. In celebration of this work and as a thank you to all members of our community a Forest School Family Celebration was organised.
The event started with a cup of hot chocolate and a biscuit and then the Woodchester Lion made a surprise appearance, cutting the ribbon and opening Forest School. It was lovely to share this space with all our parents and families and to be able to show them just what a fantastic area it is.
Thank you so much,Team Woodchester - a great example of our Vision lived and the strength of our community - 'Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many' 1 Corinthians 12-14
