Learning Behaviours
Here at Woodchester, we believe that it is important for children to be able to talk about their learning. Learning can be difficult for children to talk about and so we use the ELLI approach to support children in considering what are the key skills in learning.
Each learning skill or behaviour is associated with an animal, so that children are able to relate more easily to the learning behaviour through specific attributes and actions. Teachers share the ELLI story, enabling children to both understand the individual learning behaviour and also the collaborative way they all fit together.
Learning behaviours are monitored by Learning Champion in each class, and celebrated on a weekly basis as part of Celebration Worship.
