Welcome to Willow Class!
A welcome to Class Willow, by Mrs Hubble and Mrs Banks
A huge welcome to our Year 6 Superstars as they commence their last year in primary school. For even the most confident of 10 year olds the move into Year 6 can sometimes seem a little daunting, with this year being a significant milestone. However, it is a key moment in any child’s life as they develop more independence, a huge amount of resilience and, most importantly, will become aware of who they are as both learners and as young adults. By the end of this year, they will be more than ready to progress to the next chapter of their lives.
We work together as a team to support each other, take on responsibilities within the school and mentor our youngest children in the school as they start their Woodchester journey.
Although there is a lot of hard work to be done, there is still plenty of excitement, laughter, creativity and fun! Our residential starts the year where we get to know each other in a different setting, then on through to taking a key role in important church and school events, culminating in our summer production and end of year celebrations. There are always plenty of opportunities to think about who we are, the importance of our community and where we fit in the wider world.
Our approach is to help children develop independence, organisation and self-motivation ready for the new demands as they mature. We recognise the immense value of a strong home-school partnership and good communication to help us achieve this.
If you visit us in Willow Class, you will always find hard-working, polite and well-mannered children. At the end of the year, we hope they leave us with lots of happy memories and with the pride that being part of the Woodchester School family brings.
